Adaptive Adventures provides sustainable outdoor recreation programs to serve individuals with physical disabilities and their families free of charge.
Connecting people outside
REI Cooperative Action Fund support helps Adaptive Adventures expand access to free, adaptive outdoor recreation programs for individuals with physical disabilities and their families. Funding advances efforts to remove financial, physical, and systemic barriers—connecting participants across the country to inclusive outdoor experiences that build confidence, independence, and community.
Through this partnership, Adaptive Adventures is growing opportunities for long-term engagement, including new programs in underserved communities, expanded training and education resources, and initiatives that center lived experience and shift perceptions of who belongs in the outdoors.

Your support has had a meaningful and tangible impact on the individuals and families we serve. Because of you, more people with physical disabilities are accessing life-changing outdoor experiences, building confidence, strengthening connections, and rediscovering what is possible. The ripple effects of this investment are felt not only by participants but across families, local communities, and the broader adaptive recreation movement

If programs like this didn’t exist, I think we’ve seen the consequence is loneliness. And when somebody has nothing, then they have nothing to live for. It's nice to have people that get it. They understand what it takes to keep going. And that means a lot....From my heart—thank you.
